Richard Williams

Richard grew up in Pembrokeshire in the UK and spent a number of years in the 1990s in Sydney, Australia, working in creative food concept establishments during an exciting and innovative culinary period in Australia.
Heavily influenced by the bold artwork associated with early 90s British and Australian rave and acid house cultures, Richard values colour, expression and vitality in concept branding, and always strives to include a big dose of fun in his work.

He opened his first concept, Holy Cow! Gourmet Burger Company, in Lausanne in 2009. “HC1” was a small 8-seat take away and sold less than thirty burgers per day in the opening month. Over the subsequent fifteen years, Holy Cow! has grown to become the most successful independent rapid dining concept in Switzerland, with sixteen restaurants dotted all over the country today. Richard attributes this success to an unwavering focus on details, ensuring that every element of the concept’s DNA is on-point, every single day. Having sold the business in 2014, Richard remains as the head of quality assurance at Holy Cow! and advises on brand and food development for the group.
